Who we are
Odd Wood Lumber is a lumber and custom furniture company based out of Port Richey, Florida that prides itself on providing furniture grade lumber and custom furniture builds for its customers. In everything we do we strive to meet a need, realize a vision, and last a lifetime.
How we started
Twenty-four years ago, Jamie got his start as a trim and stair carpenter on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Trim carpentry eventually led to manufacturing entertainment centers, closet organizers, and kitchen cabinets. Through these everyday jobs he discovered a love for designing and building furniture and in turn, discovered a dream for the future.
Jamie and Emily were married in 2004; ten years later they purchased a vacation cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee. It was here where Jamie discovered farmers were burning their unused tobacco barns or just leaving them to fall as their industry switched from tobacco to cattle. At the same time, enormous trees in the area were being cut by power companies or blown over in storms and left to rot in place. It was a sad reality for such beautiful lumber; he offered to buy these barns and trees and Odd Wood Lumber was born, selling reclaimed wood and live edge slabs and dimensional lumber.
Since opening the store in 2020, Jamie and Emily have continued growing Odd Wood Lumber to meet the needs of professional craftsmen, DIY homeowners and anyone in search of high-quality wood furniture. This growth included adding a vacuum kiln to the services offered. They take pride in creating a family business, which includes their six children, as they meet the needs of other families and business owners.
